Additional notes

Digital nomads with this visa do not pay income tax in Montenegro on income earned from foreign clients/employers.

The visa does not grant the right to be employed by a Montenegrin employer.

Health insurance must cover the entire period of stay in Montenegro.

From 9 Jan 2026 (Sl. list CG 3/26): digital nomad residence is now explicitly codified in the Law on Foreigners (previously based only on administrative practice) — an employment contract and proof of the foreign employer's registration are required. Extensions are only granted on the same legal basis the visa was originally approved under.

  • Valid passport
  • Employment or income proof (min. 3x minimum wage)
